REPOST:
Personalities – Best Pageant Queen

As Miss San Antonio 2017 (and 2015) and a finalist in the Miss Texas pageant 2017, Rudkin has beauty and grace, no doubt, but the deaf 20-something has plenty of substance to back it up. She’s used the pageants as a platform to advocate for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community and started a nonprofit called Aid the Silent. Also a musician, Rudkin and her organization created the Good Vibrations Music & Arts Festival, first ever deaf/hard-of-hearing accessible music fest last year that included captioning, sign language interpretation, vibrating backpacks and an LED dance floor to help bring the music alive to deaf or hard-of-hearing concertgoers. It won Best of the Fest-Charitable Music Fest in the FestForums Conference. aidthesilent.com
