Often in nonprofits, the staff all sits down to write 1 year, 5 years and 10 years plan. I wrote down “international hearing aid mission trips” for 5 years from now. Then I felt God tugging on my heart that it was sooner then later, so I tried negotiating with God, “okay then… in 2 years.” God’s plan… within 3 months I would book a plane ticket for a country I couldn’t even pinpoint on the map. Through our donors, White Hat Foundation, @aidthesilent bought our first audiometer designed with international missions in mind. The headsets create a portable sound proof testing experience without the soundproof booth. God is calling me deeper already into missions and I have fought Him on it until now. CBC Global @cbcsocial is sending my brother and I to document and further the Gospel reach in hard-to-reach places. @ashleynicgarcia friend and audiologist from @childrenshospsa is testing hearing loss. She is the other busiest person I know and we both happened to be completely free this one week to book our trip. We have 2 more trips in planning to follow up with aftercare, 1 of these already include another audiologist. I really couldn’t ignore what God was doing. This week, I was frustrated at some disappointing paperwork that doesn’t allow us to bring the first bunch of hearing aids until the 2nd trip and the stress of being last minute and spontaneous is nerve wrecking when dealing with thousands of dollars in equipment. I was wondering did God really say to do something this crazy and wild?! I have been praying for being anointed in the Spirit and to be sent to set captives free. Early this morning, a random woman walked up and handed us anointing oil. God is clear and obvious… for such a time as this.
Ever since I was a little girl I have longed to personally adopt and to serve children who are deaf. The marginalized of those on the already on the margins .
